Cuyahoga County, Ohio, home to the city of Cleveland and one of the state’s most populous counties, operates one of the largest court systems in Ohio. The Court of Common Pleas, which is the county’s primary trial court, is organized into four divisions: General, Domestic Relations, Juvenile, and Probate. Beneath these sit numerous municipal courts serving cities and townships across the county. Records generated by these courts document the full range of legal proceedings — from felony criminal trials and civil disputes to estate administration and divorce proceedings — and are maintained primarily by the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts and the respective divisional clerks.
Ohio residents looking to locate court records have several options available. Records may be searched through official court docket systems, accessed at clerk offices and public terminals, or retrieved through online portals. For publicly available case information across Ohio courts, OhioCourts.us is one resource that may assist in locating Cuyahoga County records alongside the official tools described in this guide.
